A Lifesaver 6/10
Turn on the music,
Just to find some comfort
In the dead
Of night.
It wraps
it's arms
Around you,
Because the lyrics
You identify,
And you know
You're not alone.
Rest your soul now,
'cause music
saves your life.
Just to find some comfort
In the dead
Of night.
It wraps
it's arms
Around you,
Because the lyrics
You identify,
And you know
You're not alone.
Rest your soul now,
'cause music
saves your life.
The Only Exception 6/10
I've witnessed many heartbreaks,
And have had mine broken too.
The screaming, sleepless nights,
Headaches and tears.
So, I'm left
With the belief
That true love
does not exist,
And I will never write
About the possibility
Of its existence.
But because I feel
Somethings missing
In me
When I see you,
I think I'll make an exception.
And have had mine broken too.
The screaming, sleepless nights,
Headaches and tears.
So, I'm left
With the belief
That true love
does not exist,
And I will never write
About the possibility
Of its existence.
But because I feel
Somethings missing
In me
When I see you,
I think I'll make an exception.

The Mouth and Being Held Accountable
I've got into trouble repeatedly for my big mouth. When caught in a hairy situation my mouth runs. How much I bench, what I've done and how much I don't care. It's all bad. Whether its through fear, or for intimidation or impression it runs. I need to be more deliberate, no matter what my brain says to say. Timeouts would be a good addition for an already "hot" mouth. I've learned my lesson though, I don't have to be the baddest, hardest guy around. It really is okay to be vulnerable.
If I Die Tonight
Putting my Bible aside
I've read Psalm 51
one last time.
As the final
mournful tear
slides down my cheek,
I mouth "sorry"
to the sky.
Father,
take me home.
I've read Psalm 51
one last time.
As the final
mournful tear
slides down my cheek,
I mouth "sorry"
to the sky.
Father,
take me home.

A Confession and A Promise
I don't like liars. I don't think anyone does. They cause distrust and because that is the basis of relationships I don't want them around. But, I must admit I am one too. That is a little bit of my hypocrisy. I make excuses about how it's alright, that no one really knows, it's not hurting anyone, it's for my own safety, to mask my own inexperience in a certain area compared to another and I'm too embarrassed to admit it, or simply to impress. Granted, none are reasonable excuses. Not even the "I'll lead you on, but not really lie" routine. From now on, I will no longer lie, not even if it hurts. Honesty is the policy.
